Volunteer Roles
The Owatonna Marching Band is dependent on volunteers to make the season happen. Our volunteers help organize and implement a short, but very intense marching season. The band is incredibly grateful to all who volunteer!
parade day chaperones
At every parade, we need 8-10 volunteers to accompany the band on the bus, assist with parade prep, load and unload the trailer and walk alongside the band as they march, giving them water, encouragement and support.
Support
There are many "behind the scenes" tasks, including preparing uniforms, organizing meals, stocking first-aid kits, distributing t-shirts and handling paperwork. Without these essential tasks being completed, the band couldn't march.
fundraising
Raising the funds to support the activities of the band is critical to a successful season. We host several events throughout the spring and summer to raise these funds and we need volunteers to plan and implement them.
